Why “reutepriest”?

I’m sometimes asked why I chose the name “reutepriest” for my website.  Those of you who know me and my family well already know the answer, but for those of you who don’t, here’s why.  Over many years, “reute” became a prefix that could then be attached to anything having to do with the Reutemann family.  I think it started when my parents designed and built their dream house when I was a sophomore in high school.  Because of it’s size, one of our friends dubbed it “The Reutemansion” (or just “The Reutemansch” for short), and a front door knocker was quickly acquired with this inscription.  Since then, the prefix has been used in reference to my parents’ 5 children collectively (as in, “you should stop by, all the reutekids will be there!”), or my sisters (as in, “look at this picture of all 4 reutegirls at the wedding!”), or when my first sister was pregnant and we talked about welcoming the first reutebaby.  And now you know the rest of the story.
